Science of Magick

Affecting an Outcome in Accordance with Intention

To commune with Nature,
and to achieve a desired End,
that is the province of magick.

There being no limit to the possible,
all that falls beyond
the hills of the achievable
remains achievable.

Draw upon the energies and forces,
infuse with inner power,
to make it Manifest.

By directing our thoughts and attention, specific outcomes are possible. Concentration is required in order to manifest what we hold within. When visualizing the result, we do not simply hope that it will come true. Rather, we see the result as already being true. It is important to never focus on the problem; only see the desired outcome.

Works of magick are delicate maneuvers that require extraordinary skill and patience. It is not difficult, but magick certainly is not simple or quick. Through ongoing study and practice, our skills and magickal senses will develop and grow, and thus Nature will become increasingly more receptive to our workings.

Despite our strengths or powers, practicing magick will never allow us to completely control Nature, as it is inherently the source of our magick. To think that Nature can be dominated is both arrogant and foolish. Instead, the powers raised through magick merely interact with those parts of Nature that are open to influence. It is within Nature's purview to know and decide what is permitted and appropriate.

The symbols of Nature compose the language of magick by connecting actions to the powers that will help them materialize. Correspondences between the symbols reinforce those connections. By choosing the proper symbols and correspondences, an effective tone can be set for the magick performed.

The Laws of Magick

The how and why magick works are governed by four complementary laws. They are regarded as the primary principles that magickal interactions must obey. It is through these laws that we understand how magick operates and affects Nature and ourselves.

Law of Unification
Everything - seen and unseen, known and unknown, mundane and ethereal - is a part of everything.

Nature is the binding force of all things. Everything is of this commonality that runs throughout, creating a connecting force that binds all facets and spheres of existence. Nothing is separate and unattached; there is only one unified existence.

Practicing magick, even when done alone, is never truly a solitary act. Regardless of the intent, to affect one aspect of Nature means affecting the whole of Nature, and thus every other aspect as well.

Law of Correspondence
Everything above is so below; as below, so above.

Nature is a place of constant balance. As it is inside, so it is outside. For every local point, there is a universal point. The correspondences can be complimentary, mirroring or enhancing each other, or they can be contradictory, opposing or nullifying one another.

Magick performed locally can have a universal effect. Focusing the intent of the workings on a mundane object can have ethereal results. By seeing what is desired here, it can be manifested there. This is done by Nature to maintain balance.

Law of Polarity
Everything exists actively between opposite but equal ends.

Polarity, despite being defined by its endpoints, is a spectrum. An aspect may exist anywhere on the spectrum and may move at will between the ends. Not everything is black or white; most are in between, embodying varying degrees of infinite color.

Polarity is most evident in the design of magick; its purpose being constructive or destructive. Much of our magick aims for the constructive end of the spectrum, intending to improve or attract, or make a person, object, or situation better. However, we cannot ignore the destructive end of magick that includes bindings, endings, or banishments, as these are not meant to be detrimental or harmful.

Law of Vibration
Everything vibrates; everything moves. Nothing rests.

Nothing is truly dormant; at some level there is motion. All matter and energy, whether mundane or ethereal, moves together. Even thoughts and emotions affect vibrations.

Vibrations have a tendency to gather together with other similar oscillations. The vibrations of intentions, colors, herbs, etc., combine together within the aspects of Nature to create the outcomes that are sought. When practicing magick, it is important to choose the tools with frequencies that align with the intent of the workings.
