Studying the ways of Athicca,
alone or in partnership,
to embrace and practice the ways
of our Workings and Deeds.

To advance requires stepping forward,
three shall be the measure,
each a victory well earned.

Each level of achievement is separated by a minimum of a year and a day, although the time spent in each stage is likely to be significantly longer. While achievements denote advancement within the tradition, they are not titles and should not be used as such.

Initiate

Before being recognized as an Athiccan witch, a dedicant serves as an initiate while learning the fundamental principles and practices of the tradition. If learning from a vested Athiccan, then that person acts as a principal and oversees their apprentice's early studies.

The primary product of this education is the creation of the initiate's personal Athiccan Books, consisting of the Shadows, Grimoire, and Writings, that detail the ways of the tradition and emphasizing any of the initiate's specific areas of interest.

An initiate may perform meditation, rituals, and spellwork either as a solitary or together with the principal but is generally discouraged from participating in magick done by other Athiccan witches.

Fellow - First Achievement

Upon proficiency of basic knowledge and practices, adherence to the Athiccan Rede and Code, and, if applicable, deemed ready and worthy by the principal, an initiate will be granted recognition as a fellow. This marks the first achievement and formal introduction as a witch into the Athicca tradition. This is recognized by the fellow picking a witch name.

From this point forward, the principal has only a peripheral role in the witch's continuing education and activities, remaining available for consultation when needed.

A fellow is allowed to participate in spellwork and magick performed by other Athiccan witches but should still avoid leading group workings.

Senior - Second Achievement

When advanced awareness and expertise of tradition practices have been demonstrated, then recognition as a senior will be bestowed, signifying the second achievement.

Seniors are permitted to plan and lead spellwork involving other Athiccan members and are generally looked upon to advise and assist anyone in the tradition who seeks support.

A senior may also serve as a principal for an apprentice.

Elder - Third Achievement

The final achievement is recognition as an elder. This may be granted, generally with the endorsement of another elder, when great contributions to the tradition are acknowledged through mastery and embodiment of its principles.

All elders are looked upon as role models and sources of inspiration for other witches in the tradition.

An elder may form a new coven, if so desired, and is then charged with overseeing its activities. In addition, an elder may be called upon to assist in overseeing the tradition or directing its evolution.
