First Achievement: Athiccan Fellow

Designation as an Athiccan Fellow marks attainment of the first achievement. It signifies a fundamental understanding of the ways and practices of the Athicca tradition and denotes a preparedness to perform basic magick.


This form of the ceremony is used by an Apprentice who has studied and is joining the tradition as a solitary.

Items needed:
White candle

1.

Stand before the altar.

I am here in perfect love and perfect trust.

2.

Ring the bell once.

I come to this tradition
of my own free will.

I am studying and practicing,
with open mind and heart,
the ways and principles of the tradition.

I will take responsibility for my actions,
whether intentional or not,
and accept all consequences.

3.

Ring the bell twice.

I come before you,
wishing to herejoin as your kith and kin,
having reached the first achievement.
It is affirmed to be proper.

4.

Inscribe the white candle with your witch name
and the symbol of the Athiccan Fellow.

I shall be known as [witch name].

5.

Light the white candle.

Ring the bell three times.

To be recognized,
I embrace the title of Athiccan Fellow.

I am now a witch of the tradition.
In perfect love and perfect trust,
we are all herejoined.

As we will it, so mote it be.

6.

Allow the candle to burn out.

This form of the ceremony is used when an Apprentice has studied under the instruction of a Principal. If performed within a coven, it may also mark formal recognition as a member of the coven.

Apprentice, how do you approach?

Apprentice:

From behind the Principal, approach the altar.

In pefect love and perfect trust.

2.

Principal:

Ring the bell once.

Do you come to our tradition
of your own free will?

Apprentice:

I do.

Principal:

Are you studying and practicing,
with open mind and heart,
the ways and principles of our tradition?

Apprentice:

I am.

Principal:

Will you take responsibility for your actions,
whether intentional or not,
and accept all consequences?

Apprentice:

I will.

Principal:

Ring the bell twice.

The Apprentice before us,
wishing to herejoin as our kith and kin,
has reached the first achievement.
It is affirmed to be proper.

Principal:

Declare your witch name.

Apprentice:

Inscribe the white candle with your witch name
and the symbol of the Athiccan Fellow.

I shall be known as [witch name].

Principal:

Light the white candle.

Ring the bell three times.

To be recognized,
we confer upon you the title of Athiccan Fellow.

[Fellow's witch name], we bid you welcome
