Pentagram

In Athicca, as with most pagan-based traditions, the pentagram is the most commonly recognized and used magickal symbol. It holds several meanings, representing the fundamental elements of existence as well as the human form.

Pentagrams are always drawn with one point upward. How the pentagram is being used will determine the direction in which it is drawn.

Pentagram vs. Pentacle

While sometimes used interchangeably, it should be noted that a pentacle is not the same as a pentagram. A pentacle is a round disk – usually made of wood, stone, or other similar material – inscribed with a magickal symbol. The pentagram is most prevalent, but other symbols may be used.
